I Just Want to Live in Peace

This research report explores Thailand’s long-standing political conflict, the militarization of society, and the struggles for human rights and justice. Using Participatory Action Research (PAR), the study captures the lived experiences of victims, activists, and communities affected by state violence and repression. It highlights key findings on transitional justice, peacebuilding initiatives, and barriers to accountability, with a focus on youth, gender justice, and marginalized voices. The report also examines past truth-seeking processes, institutional reforms, and ongoing challenges in ensuring safety and security for all citizens. With policy recommendations aimed at fostering dialogue, accountability, and lasting peace, this publication serves as a crucial resource for policymakers, human rights defenders, and scholars working toward a more just and democratic Thailand.
