October 2015 marks the 10 years since CAVR handed over the Chega! Report to Timor-Leste’s President, Xanana Gusmao. AJAR and its partners are planning and implementing a number of activities to take stock of the impact of Chega!, revisit its findings and recommendations, and gather the views of victims and human rights advocates on its unfinished business.
In 2014-2015, we will conduct the following activities:
- Disseminate the Chega! Report in Indonesia and the region in partnership with the Post-CAVR secretariat
- Conduct research on CAVR’s findings on seperated children and torture
- Produce Chega! comic books in Indonesian and English languages
- Facilitate discussions and seminars in Timor-Leste, Indonesia and the region on the CAVR process and the main lessons learned.
